Joy Rupe is a Dietetic Technician, Registered (DTR) and chef. Referred by Registered Dietitians, Joy provides nutrition-focused culinary skills for clients with medical conditions using healthful cooking methods and easy-to-prepare recipes. These services including cooking demonstrations and seminars are available to local businesses and government agencies.  Joy also teaches a certification course for SafeStaff Food Handlers and provides sanitation audits for food service establishments.  
 
As the former owner-operator of Comfort Cuisine Personal Chef Service (2000 - 2011), Joy served hundreds of families and individuals with in-home meals, small scale catering and culinary classes.  She developed specialized cooking methods for U.S. Air Force flight attendants and cooking curriculums for children in public and private schools.  In 1999, Joy and her family opened The Empress Tea Room and Galleria in Temple Terrace, Fl, where she trained kitchen and wait staff in operations, safety, and sanitation for the 55-seat operation.  Through 2001 Joy was responsible for daily food service, menu development, inventory, equipment, ordering and scheduling. 
 

Joy volunteers as a resource for specialized chefs services in the bay area. She was selected to attend the White House launch of the national program Chef's Move to Schools, (2009) in Washington, DC. Following the event Joy adopted Riverhills Elementary School in TempleTerrace, Fl, teaching students about nutrition and organic gardening.  Currently Joy is co-authoring a book with Linda Albert, PhD, on gaining cooperation with children in meal preparation and planning.
